TORONTO, CANADA (November 1, 2018) – Award-winning, global media production company marblemedia has greenlit the production of A Celtic Family Christmas, a one-hour musical special starring the renowned MacMaster-Leahy family of musicians, which is set to premiere in December.

This Christmas, world-famous fiddler Natalie MacMaster, her fellow fiddler husband Donnell Leahy, their seven incredible children who play the fiddle, sing, dance along with a number of special guests, will be inviting North American families into their Christmas celebrations, filled with music, dance, storytelling and kinship. The filming of A Celtic Family Christmas will take place just outside Peterborough and Toronto in November, culminating with a performance in front of a live studio audience.

Both internationally acclaimed award-winning musicians in their own right, as a duo Natalie and Donnell are recipients of a Canadian Folk Music Award (2015) and an East Coast Music Award (2016), have collaborated on albums One (2015) and A Celtic Family Christmas (2016) and have been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Trent University. Natalie, Donnell, and their family, have an extensive discography with 12 albums which including 11 solo albums for Natalie MacMaster.

The one-hour special has been picked up by BYUtv in the United States and Canadian broadcasters YESTV, NTV, CHEK DT and Vision TV, which will air the special in December 8 (Local air times will be determined by the individual broadcasters.)

Joining Natalie, Donnell and their seven talented children on stage will be special guests Jackie Evancho and Shawn Hook. Jackie Evancho (www.jackieevancho.com) took the world by storm as a 10-year-old contestant on America’s Got Talent, and in the intervening eight years has gone on to record seven studio albums, including 2016’s Someday At Christmas, which saw her once again at number one on the Classical charts. TORONTO, ON – March 27, 2018 – Leading television producer marblemedia is pleased to announce that Holy Baloney, a play-along 10 episode, three-minute series for kids, has been greenlit by CBC Kids for a spring 2018 launch at CBC Kids and on the CBC TV App.

Produced by Matt Hornburg and Mark Bishop of marblemedia, along with Jesse Shamata, creator of the hit series Gaming Show (In My Parents Garage), Holy Baloney challenges viewers to guess the answers to everyday questions. Can you pick out fact from fiction? Truth from complete baloney? This Spring, you’ll be able to find out!

Each episode features three kids who take time out of their lunch hour to answer a poignant question about everyday things – each giving a different, hilarious response! The range of questions could include where something in the world comes from, why something is the way it is, or why people do the things they do.

The questions – and sometimes the answers – will be tricky for both kids and parents. It’s up to the viewers to watch the convincing answers of all three schoolyard experts and decide which answer is right, and which two are complete baloney. This kid friendly series is a mix of live-action and mixed media, as the imaginative answers are visually played out throughout each episode.

Kylee and Sandy are no strangers to kids and family entertainment. TORONTO, CANADA (August 21, 2017)  – Award-winning global media production and distribution company marblemedia announced today it will begin production this fall on Just Like Mom and Dad, an exciting new and modern remake of the 80s hit game show Just Like Mom. Produced in association with YES TV in Canada and BYUtv in the US, the 20-episode primetime family game show will premiere across North America in January 2018.

A highly popular part of Canadian TV pop culture nostalgia, the original Canadian series Just like Mom ran more than 600 episodes over five seasons from 1980 to 1985 on CTV, and many years later in syndication. marblemedia secured all remake and development rights in an agreement with Bell Media. This multi-year format deal includes worldwide program and format distribution rights to the series, through marblemedia’s distribution arm, Distribution360 (D360), along with digital and ancillary rights.

In its new series, Just Like Mom and Dad, marblemedia will be introducing a newly re-imagined kids & family game show that brings back some of the most loved elements of the original series with a number of exciting new additions. The show celebrates all families and brings the fun while exploring how well kids and parents know each other.

Shot before a live, energetic studio audience on a bright, dynamic set filled with flashy lights, giant moving video screens, and a bigger and more tempting prize wheel, each episode of Just Like Mom and Dad will feature three parent-kid pairs. The game starts with two interactive trivia based rounds where parents and kids will answer questions about each other. The third and final round will be an exciting bake-off in a new, state of the art kitchen coliseum. With new twists, surprise questions and a brand new host couple to be announced in the coming weeks, Just Like Mom and Dad will be a new family time favourite. Designed with digital in mind, the series will celebrate modern, diverse families and prove once again that families love spending time and playing together.  Extended families and loved ones will be encouraged to participate as well through audience cheering sections and online.

Additionally, marblemedia will be releasing a suite of digital media components. Produced inhouse by marblemedia Interactive, to support the Just Like Mom and Dad series, the Just Like Mom and Dad App will allow families to play challenges with each other, share successes and continue to bond with and learn about each other every day. marblemedia is excited to announce the series is being produced in association with YES TV and Omnicom’s Highway Entertainment  in Canada and US partner BYUtv. Just Like Mom and Dad is also financed with participation of the Bell Fund and Shaw Rocket Fund.

In addition, marblemedia has partnered with Segal Licensing, who will be handling licensing and merchandising for the series.  marblemedia is also currently in discussion with a number of brand integration partnerships for participation in the series.

Producers for the series include Mark Bishop, Matt Hornburg, Steve Sloan, Stephen Turnbull, alongside Rob Sheppard for YES TV, Jim Bell for BYUtv and Adam Ivers for Omnicom’s Highway Entertainment.

The show will be produced in the GTA in October and an online casting call launches today and closes September 10, 2017.

marblemedia’s Opie’s Home premieres as a part of TVO’s 2017 kids summer schedule

TORONTO, CANADA (June 22, 2017) – When you’re 4 and a half and three quarters, there are no friends like the ones next door.  There is no playground like your backyard, and no one quite like your family.  There’s no place like home.

Opie’s Home, now on TVO, is a new preschool comedy series about life, family and the wonderful place we call home.  The series invites viewers to follow the adventures of 4yo Opie as the viewers and Opie both head home from school for the summer.

From resisting bedtime, to making a special meal for Mommy and Daddy or getting into his first argument with his best friend, Opie’s Home celebrates the important relationships, milestones and day-to-day interactions that mark what it means to be a preschooler, full of all the funny moments and life lessons that preschoolers and parents can relate to. The series brings the lessons from the classroom home into Opie’s world.

Opie’s Home is a spin-off of the award-winning series, Hi Opie!, which follows Opie as he ventures to kindergarten for the first time.

Cast includes award-winning puppeteer Jordan Lockhart as Opie, Aisha Alfa as Mom, Jim Annan as Dad, and Oscar-nominated actor Graham Greene as Opie’s much loved next door neighbour Mr. Kabashio.
