Start of Principal Photography Begins on Splatalot Season 2

Scheduled for Broadcast on YTV and TÉLÉTOON French this Fall

July 4, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – Award-winning producer marblemedia announced today that principal photography on Season 2 of the hit medieval-themed game show Splatalot has begun. All 26 half-hour episodes will be shot at marble’s 50-acre production ranch, home to the show’s custom castle located just north of Toronto.

Sure to be filled with even more splats and spills than ever before, this new season is scheduled to air in Canada on YTV and in French on TÉLÉTOON French this fall.

Topping off all of this excitement, the cast of YTV’s Mr. Young and Life with Boys will battle it out on the Splatalot set this week for YTV’s Celebrity Splatdown special slated to air later in the fall.

“After establishing itself as a top rated show for tweens and co-view audiences in markets around the world, we couldn’t be happier to deliver fans new episodes of Splatalot,” said Matt Hornburg, Co-CEO and Executive Producer at marblemedia. “With three new Defenders and a massive expansion of the course, Season 2 is truly going to blow contestants out to the water.”

Available in over 100 countries worldwide, Season 2 of Splatalot has been commissioned by Canadian broadcasters YTV and TÉLÉTOON French, CBBC in the U.K. and ABC3 in Australia.

Season 1 of the series will also air on Disney XD in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as on Z@PP in the Netherlands.

Each episode features a different group of 10 thrill-seeking teen contestants, dubbed Attackers, competing in three hilarious rounds: Cross the Moat, Escape the Stockade and Capture the Crown. The Defenders of Splatalot, an international squad of nine costumed gladiators, do their best to protect the castle from the Attackers – leaving only one in each episode to be crowned King or Queen of Splatalot.
