marblemedia Expands U.S. Presence

May 22, 2013 (Toronto, Canada) – Award-winning content creator marblemedia has expanded its U.S. presence with the hiring of Los Angeles based development executive Renae Garcia as Director, U.S. Development and Acquisitions. Renae will report directly to Co-CEO and Executive Producer, Matt Hornburg, who currently shares his time between the company’s head office in Toronto and Los Angeles.

“As our development slate broadens into the prime-time scripted space, expanding our presence in L.A. is a natural next step,” said Matt Hornburg, Co-CEO and Executive Producer, marblemedia. “Renae has a real talent for spotting smart, original ideas and content trends. Her expertise and experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to work with new writers, creators and show runners.”

With over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Renae recognizes the importance of a highly strategic approach to the creation, acquisition and distribution of linear and non-linear content. Renae held the position of Director, Acquisitions and Development at FremantleMedia where she was part of the team that launched their scripted division. Prior to that, she was Director, Acquisitions and Development at Alchemy Television. She began her career at ICM and CAA talent agencies.

Renae will be joining her marblemedia colleagues at the Banff World Media Festival where she will be actively looking for new development opportunities as well as acquisitions for the company’s distribution slate.
